Asia Rugby have announced that the Asia Rugby Sevens Trophy will take place this year in sub-regional concept which is different from the single tournament held every year before. The on going global pandemic issue has forced the governing body to revamp their 2021 rugby events calendar. All 34 member unions are expected to be involved in the return to play efforts designed by the Asia Rugby.

Asia Rugby had also schedule training and education courses to ensure safe ‘Return to Play’ events. It will be held virtually leading up to and during the tournaments. The tournament days will be the final stage for face-to-face components of the higher-level and refresher courses.

West Asia Region – September 2021, Lebanon.

South & Central Asia Region – October 2021, Uzbekistan.

East & South East Asia Region – November 2021, Thailand.

Asia Rugby Sevens Series and Asia Rugby Championship are also scheduled and will go ahead as planned. These tournaments will also serve as the Asian qualifiers for the upcoming Rugby World Cup 15s and 7s.
